250,000 pounds sterling find at nuclear plant

Article Abstract:

Nuclear Electric was prosecuted and fined by the HSE because of inadequate safety management at its power station in Anglesey. The company failed to ensure that employees were not exposed to health and safety risks following an incident involving an obstruction to the fuel channel. It was nine hours before the operations were shut down, even though the obstruction could have caused overheating and the release of radioactive particles.
