A stem cell scientist, Hui Zhen Sheng's most noteworthy paper is one she published in August 2003 in a Chinese journal called Cell Research. She showed for the first time that an animal egg can be used to make an adult human cell revert to an embryonic state and her work had important implications raising the possibility that scientists could use animal eggs to clone human embryos for research purposes, skirting the need for precious human eggs.

David Ho was named as the Times person of the year in 1996,and his papers are considered to be one of the best in AIDS research. He focused on public health and also assisted the Chinese government during the severe acute respiratory syndrome outbreaks.
