Bang & Olufsen's Beolab 8000 loudspeakers won a gold award in the consumer products category of the 1992 I.D. Annual Design Review. The jurors acclaimed the ground-breaking loudspeaker design, which was inspired by the shape of organ pipes. The small active bass loudspeaker was the result of extensive research by Bang & Olufsen. The sleek loudspeaker, which has a height of 52 inches and diameter of four inches, gives a hint of sculpture that can enhance home interiors.

A personal narrative is presented from the victim of a sexual assault, one of many which occured during the annual National Puerto Rican Day parade in New York City. The incident was marked by the inactivity of the police, who did nothing to act on the crimes taking place.
