IRS feeling charitable on doctor recruitment incentives?
Article Abstract:
A recently created Internal Revenue Service measure, the Final Revenue Ruling 97-21, establishes new and more flexible tax guidelines for physician recruiting at nonprofit hospitals. Nonprofit hospitals will be allowed to use similar techniques for recruiting physicians as utilized by for-profit hospitals. The measure gives nonprofit hospitals the ability under a new tax code to offer doctors perks and incentive packages.
