Intelligent Vehicle/Highway System or IVHS are collision warning systems that may spell the difference in traffic safety in the near future. These projects feature traffic reports, route planning, warning systems and enhanced night vision. Information is displayed on a monitor similar to that used in aircrafts. In case of accidents, these systems ensure quick assistance from emergency crews. Officials of IVHS America plan to install these systems in mass transport vehicles.

Article Abstract:

The multiple benefits to be derived from effective hearing-conservation programs are outlined. A four-step guide in designing suchprograms, based on the Occupational Health and Safety Administration's noise standard and hearing-conservation amendment, is prescribed. These include monitoring noise levels, testing employee hearing, providing methodical training and ensuring a hearing-friendly workplace.
