Imaging mass spectrometry: a new technology for the analysis of protein expression in mammalian tissues

Article Abstract:

This article details the usefulness of imaging mass spectrometry technology to map and image biomolecules within mammalian tissues. Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry has been used to develop this technology, and it can be used to analyze proteins and peptides on or close to the surface of tissue samples.

Tumor-specific gene expression in hepatic metastases by a replication-activated adenovirus vector

Article Abstract:

Adenovirus vectors have shown transgene expression in every metastasis examined, while no transgene induction was observed outside tumors. This research has provided a new concept for gene expression specific to tumors that can also be applied to conditionally replicating adenovirus vectors.

Regulation of Fas ligand expression and cell death by apoptosis-linked gene 4

Article Abstract:

ALG-4F, a truncated transcript that prevents T cell-receptor-induced FAS/Fas ligand (FasL) upregulation and cell death in studies of apoptosis induced by T cell-receptor engagement. Study results show ALG-4 is likely necessary and sufficient for FasL expression.
