Article Abstract:

Genetic testing of children and adolescents for late-onset medical conditions, disease susceptibilities and carrier status may offer medical and psychologic benefits, but may also create harm. Nurses must be prepared to address and discuss with families the psychosocial and ethical issues involved in childhood genetic testing.
