Progressive left anterior chest and shoulder pain

Article Abstract:

A patient who smoks heavily and has hypertension complaining of anterior chest and shoulder pain should be considered for myocardial or pericardial disease. A chest radiograph disclosed a fibrous dysplastic tumor, which is the most common kind of tumor in the rib cage, and which was surgically removed. Treatment for this condition varies according to the structures involved and symptom severity.

Competence: the basis of pain management

Article Abstract:

The article supports staff education as an effective means of improving the quality of pain management in patients. Education should include pain assessment and problem-solving skills, and a reference guide for medication administration and dosage.
