Increasing HIV prevalence in a rural district of South Africa from 1992 through 1995
Article Abstract:
HIV infection is spreading rapidly among young people in urban and rural South Africa. Nearly 6% of the population in rural Hlabisa is infected, and 19% of the population of urban Durban has the disease. The higher number of patients in urban centers is largely due to greater numbers of people aged 15-19.
