The supplement The Hormone Continuum: Accrual of Women's Health Benefits contains reports from two symposia in May and June, 2000. It discusses the use of hormones throughout a woman's life, beginning with oral contraceptive use to prevent pregnancy and ending with postmenopausal estrogen therapy. A CE test is included.

The transdermal contraceptive system

Article Abstract:

The transdermal contraceptive system is a novel combination hormonal contraceptive that contains the hormones norelgestromin and ethinyl estradiol. The transdermal delivery approach minimizes the 'peaks and troughs' of hormone contraception associated with daily oral administration.

The intrauterine contraceptive device: an often-forgotten and maligned method of contraception

Article Abstract:

Less than 1% of all women who use contraception use an intrauterine device (IUD) even though they are very effective in preventing pregnancy. Women who have no risk factors for pelvic inflammatory disease are the best candidates for an IUD.
