Is mother-infant bonding a myth?

Article Abstract:

It is a myth that women need to stay home with their children for at least one year to properly bond with them. New studies have shown that children thrive in households where the child is exposed to several stable adults. It is not necessary for the mother to exclusively care for the child.

"My mother came back from the dead."

Cindy Boyer, whose mother Patricia White Bull was in a near-coma for 16 years following the formation of a blood clot in her lung, states that she now wishes to participate in her mother's therapy. She welcomes the fact that her mother will now be able to attend family events.

Is a mother responsible if her mate repeatedly abuses her child?

Article Abstract:

A survey of readers of Glamour magazine indicates that 91% of the respondents believe that a woman is responsible for the repeated abuse of her child by her mate. Forty-three percent of readers believe that both the mother and the abuser should receive the same punishment.
