It's all in the sales pitch

Article Abstract:

Nurses are being induced into using certain types of coverings for wounds by direct and indirect advertising, although the continued use of a product will be judged on its effectiveness. A survey of 47 nurses and interviews with 12 nurses and 4 managers was conducted to investigate the influence of manufacturers on a nurse's choice of dressings. In the community, nurses were shown to use their own judgement based on patient need, but the use of a new wound covering did coincide with some type of contact with product promotion.
