Jabs in the dark

Article Abstract:

Concern about the measles, mumps, rubella vaccine among parents in the UK has led to a fall in the number of children being vaccinated. There are signs that this concern is now spreading to health professionals, with 10% of health visitors and 8% of practice nurses stating that they may not recommend the vaccination. If the number of children being vaccinated continues to fall, there is a risk of a measles epidemic, bringing complications such as encephalitis and pneumonia. Some experts are very alarmed at the idea that health professionals could be discouraging parents from having their child vaccinated against measles.
