Just who actually benefits from restricted visiting hours is not clear

Article Abstract:

The Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust decided to ban the children from visiting their relatives, limited the visiting hours and restricted the number of visitors per bed, as a part of the drive to reduce the infections by norovirus (winter vomiting virus). A consultant nurse, also a mother, expresses her dismay at such a rule, and questions the trend towards restricted visiting hours, as she believes that such a step is unhealthy as infection control is a never ending effort, and the benefit of such a drive is not indicated.
