Successful bodybuilders have adopted a program that is derived from research on muscle morphology, overtraining, overreaching, detraining and exercise physiology. Workouts must maintain reps in the 3-8 range because too few and too many reps are not both effective.

Heel elevation in the squat

Article Abstract:

Heel elevation does not strengthen thigh muscles when lifting barbells in a squat position. Experts say the pressure created in this position is concentrated on the erector and back muscles instead of the quadriceps.
