Learning power

Article Abstract:

Post-registration courses for nurses have developed in response to needs of a reformed UK National Health Service. Courses reflect the desire to update skills or participate in degree courses. The United Kingdom Central Council has developed post-registration education and practice (PREP). Modular courses, credit accumulation and transfer schemes (CATS) and assessing prior experiential learning (APEL) have increased flexibility. Sheffield University, England has introduced a masters' degree based on multidisciplinary self-directed learning.
