Limousine medicine: When is it time to hit the brakes?

Article Abstract:

People in the US are unreasonable in their belief that medical care at any cost is justifiable. As a whole, the nation benefits more from good eating habits, sanitation and public health services than from expensive, high-tech medical advancements. Providing basic services for chronically ill people is also a sounder investment. A political leader needs to take the difficult responsibility of telling the public that unlimited medical care is unaffordable.
