Long-acting reliever/preventer inhalers

Article Abstract:

Long-acting reliever/preventer inhalers are used in the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The side effect of high doses of this drug has the potential to cause adrenal suppression and risk of glaucoma with prolonged use.

Patients with severe asthma

Article Abstract:

Issues are presented concerning the care given to the 'difficult to treat' category of patients who suffer from asthma. The risk to these patients of near fatal attacks of asthma are discussed. Their medication is considered.
