Long-term outcome of primary percutaneous coronary intervention versus prehospital and in-hospital thrombolysis for patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction

Article Abstract:

The outcome of different reperfusion strategies in consecutive ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients is evaluated. The results have shown that in unselected patients with STEMI, primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), which compared favorably with in-hospital thrombolysis (IHT) and prehospital thrombolysis (PHT), is associated with reduced duration of hospital stay, readmission, reinfarction and mortality.

Long-term outcomes with drug-eluting stents versus bare-metal stents in Sweden

Article Abstract:

The long-term outcome in all patients undergoing stent implantation in Sweden in 2003 and 2004 is evaluated and a follow-up analysis of death and myocardial infarction is conducted by using other national registries. The results have shown that drug-eluting stents were associated with increased rate of death than bare-metal stents, but a long-term safety of drug-eluting stents needs to be ascertained in large, randomized trials.

Early Statin Treatment Following Acute Myocardial Infarction and 1-Year Survival

Article Abstract:
