Medicare pilot project offers CME for quality improvement

The Centers for Medicare & Medicare and Services (CMS) has announced a national pilot program to award continuing medical education credits to physicians participating in quality improvements projects with MedicareEs Quality Improvement Organizations. This program aims to encourage the number of physicians in outpatient and office settings participating in quality improvement efforts.

Medicare computers ripe for upgrade

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has upgraded its computer technology in 18 years with an attempt to streamline its accounting process and possibly saving taxpayers billions. CMS has turned to IBM and Lexington to help analyze the agencyEs technology needs and install a new claims-processing system.
