The effect of nevirapine in combination with nelfinavir in heavily pretreated HIV-1-infected patients: a prospective, open-label, controlled, randomized study

Article Abstract:

The non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor nevirapine can be used when switching HIV patients from one protease inhibitor to another. This was the conclusion of a study of 56 HIV patients who were taking two nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors, the protease inhibitor nelfinavir, and nevirapine or no nevirapine.

HIV-1 reverse transcriptase gene 103K/N and 184M/V combinations in tandem

Article Abstract:

A new double-ARMS (amplification refractory mutation system) real-time polymerase chain reaction assay was developed to detect and quantify 4 populations in the CD45RO(super +) T-cell compartment. Twenty-one patients, 18 lamivudine and efavirenz/nevirapine experienced, were enrolled in a cross-sectional study.

Meta-analysis of two randomized controlled trials comparing combined zidovudine and didanosine therapy with combined zidovudine, didanosine, and nevirapine therapy in patients with HIV

Article Abstract:

Achieving blood HIV levels of 20 copies per milliliter or less is the best way to achieve complete suppression of HIV replication in HIV-infected patients. This was the conclusion of a study of 170 HIV patients, half of whom received triple therapy with zidovudine, didanosine, and nevirapine.
