Microbiological changes associated with dental prophylaxis

Article Abstract:

A study of the microbiological impact on the application of dental prophylaxis on twenty healthy college subjects is presented. The results show that there is reduction in the bacterial amount, but a little change in the relative bacterial composition of dental plaque and the earliest signs of gingivitis are due to the increased plaque accumulation, therefore, it is necessary to have regular plaque removal to prevent the consequences of early gingivitis.
