More scrutiny for dietary supplements?

Article Abstract:

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced several regulatory initiatives to control the danger posed by dietary supplements like ephedra and androstenedione, and to assure the consumers about their safety. However, some people feel that the unsafe supplements would continue to be available in the market for extended periods before the FDA implements the initiatives.

Antidepressants and pregnancy

Article Abstract:

Approximately 10-15% women of childbearing age suffer from major depressive disorders and take antidepressants that may harm their unborn children. Research has shown that newborns whose mothers take antidepressants during pregnancy face a higher risk for variety of conditions, including respiratory diseases, feeding problems and seizures.

Suicide caution stamped on Antidepressants

Article Abstract:

Food and drug administration has asked pharmaceutical manufacturers to add warnings for some antidepressants which pose a risk for suicidal behavior. The various drugs that pose a risk for suicidal behavior are mentioned.
