Naval hospital ship heads for home after treating casualties of Gulf War

Article Abstract:

The US Navy hospital ship Comfort left the Persian Gulf in May, 2003, after treating more than 600 injured soldiers and civilians, including 200 Iraqi citizens. The ship functions as a level 3 hospital, treating the most severely injured patients. The ship also spent some time in Manhattan after September 11, 2001, offering food, showers, and beds to many rescue workers.
