Negotiating for a balanced medical playing field

Article Abstract:

Medical care providers need to negotiate a viable health care system that adequately balances the concerns of many parties, such as physicians and managed care firms. Attempts to resolve differences by sheer dominance will fail. During negotiations, physicians must be clear about which issues are negotiable and which are not, and why. They must be prepared to share their vision for the future, to be flexible, and to offer a fair exchange to satisfy others' concerns.
