Network links doctors, disabled job seekers

Article Abstract:

The Labor Department of Washington launched the Employee Referral Assistance Network, a free service that can help doctors find workers who are ready to go to work and are qualified for the position despite being physically disabled. Even though people with disabilities may fear losing their public health benefits if they enter the work force, the federal government has made efforts to ensure that these things do not happen.

Electronic filing rule could delay payments

Federal electronic standards are about to face a etrain wreckE that could mean delayed reimbursement, and physicians should be prepared for the worst. Physician groups anticipate problems with implementation of the Health Insurance portability and Accountability Act requirement and are pushing for contingency plans.

CMS gives doctors more time to meet latest HIPAA rule

Article Abstract:

The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services are giving some time to meet HIPAA standards for electronic claims filing. Blue Cross and Blue Shield is doing the same.
