New PCB regulations will reduce costs to industry

Article Abstract:

The EPA stated recently that its proposal to amend regulations pertaining to polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) could save industries up to $6 million in compliance costs without compromising public health and environmental safety. Industrial interests have expressed support for the EPA proposal on PCB rules but some have also taken exception to particular provisions of the proposed rule change. Electric utilities are questioning the EPA's need to regulate previously-exempt transformers.
