New face to fight nursing's corner

Article Abstract:

David Thompson has been appointed as a professor of nursing research within the Department of Health. Thompson has a strong background in research and development and he will be a protagonist for nursing, health visiting and midwifery. Thompson believes that research has to be linked to clinical practice and, in his new post, he will be set up a committee to look at how nurses can integrate research into their working lives and gain recognition from other medical disciplines for the work they do.
