New role of nurses and midwives

Article Abstract:

Members of the World Health Organization are concerned over the decrease in the number of practicing nurses since they play such an important role in health care services. It is felt that more attention should be paid to enhancing their role in health acre policy formulation.

Safe Motherhood in Tanzania

Article Abstract:

Almost 60% of the 500,000 pregnant women who die in developing countries each year die from anaemia because they are unaware that they must change their diet to feed themselves and the child. Education, immunization, proper eating habits and rest are discussed.

Article Abstract:

Community participation in planning health care can cause difficulties for health care workers but works best in the long term. Community priorities may differ from those held by medical professionals, but through mutual learning more can be achieved.
