Nine things you should know about safety training

Article Abstract:

Safety directors often encounter problems in the development and implementation of safety programs. To address this, directors should improve their interpersonal skills, identify the goals and limits of their programs and educate employees on the effects of safety on quality and productivity. Safety directors should also select suitable employees for training, evaluate the value of the program to the organization, employ different delivery techniques and consider hiring an outside consultant.

An explosive situation: the risk of explosions at ethylene oxide sterilization facilities has prompted a NIOSH alert

Article Abstract:

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and the Ethylene Oxide Sterilization Association have issued recommendations for reducing the risk of explosions. These include avoiding overfeeding the system and installing real-time, electronic area monitors.
