Ninth ROC rocks the boat
Article Abstract:
In preliminary processes the Ninth Report on Carcinogens (ROC), a congressionally mandated listing of known human carcinogens and reasonable anticipated human carcinogens prepared by the National Toxicology Program (NTP) and to be released in early 1999, has brought some controversy to the fore with recommendations that alcoholic beverages and environmental, or second-hand, tobacco smoke be placed on the list. Diesel engine particulates are another possible controversial item. Table lists summary of recommendations of various committees for listing or delisting for the 9th ROC.
