The varied risk factors for mortality in portal and superior mesenteric venous injuries are analyzed. The mortality in portal vein (PV) and superior mesenteric vein (SMV) is generated from various factors like an acute vascular injury, number of associated injuries and physiologic condition of the patient.

Percutaneous venous valve bioprosthesis: initial observation

The safety, patency, and effectiveness of the percutaneous venous valve bioprosthesis to bring back competency to the deep venous system are studied. The bovine monocusp venous valve inserted surgically into the common femoral vein showed benefits and positive long term patency.
