Outdoor air pollution, low birth weight, and prematurity

Article Abstract:

Research indicates a connection between maternal exposure to air pollution and low birth weight and premature birth. Sulfur dioxide was significantly associated with both conditions, while total suspended particles had a somewhat less significant correspondence, and the first trimester was found to have the highest level of vulnerability.

PM(10) exposure, gaseous pollutants, and daily mortality in Inchon, South Korea

Article Abstract:

Research indicates that air pollutants should be considered together in assessing health risks, rather than evaluating the impact of individual pollutants. Supporting data are based on studies in Inchon, South Korea, using regression coefficients of particulate matter in an aerodynamic diameter over a 5-day period.
