First- and second-trimester ultrasound assessment gestational age

Article Abstract:

Ultrasound assessment of gestational age is very accurate and is marginally better in the first trimester compared with the second. The objective of the study was to evaluate and compare the accuracy of first- and second-trimester ultrasound examinations in the assessment of fetal age.

Gestational age at abortion: The impact of first-trimester risk assessment for aneuploidy

Article Abstract:

The impact of first-trimester risk assessment on gestational age at abortion for abnormal fetal karyotype is studied. The results have shown that the first-trimester risk assessment is associated with earlier diagnosis of aneuploidy, which led to earlier abortions.
