Patient satisfaction with results of hysterectomy

Article Abstract:

Most women who have a hysterectomy are satisfied with the outcome and report complete symptom relief. This was the conclusion of a survey of 1,299 women before and 3, 6, 12, 18, and 24 months after the hysterectomy. Women who had to be re-admitted to the hospital for a surgical complication were least likely to be satisfied.

Article Abstract:

A study to compare morbidity for women undergoing laproscopy-assisted vaginal hysterectomy with bilateral oophorectomy (LAVHO) and vaginal hysterectomy with bilateral oophorectomy without lapsroscopic assistance (VHO) was conducted. The results revealed that the overall complication rate was higher with LAVHO than VHO.
