Article Abstract:

The most common diseases passed from pets to humans are infections due to bites, dog roundworm and hookworm, cat-scratch disease, toxoplasmosis, intestinal infections, strep infections, ringworm, and dog and cat mites. Preventative measures are discussed.

Pets and you: Companions for health

Article Abstract:

The returns on the effort put in by a pet owner to care for an animal companion are well worth as the pet helps one to stay healthy and active. Having a pet is shown to have cardiovascular benefits as well as mental health benefits too.

Organized therapy programs have long recognized the health benefits provided by pets, gardening and music. People who are already interested in pets, gardens and music would benefit the most from this kind of therapy.
