Precautions, skills key for child sedation

Article Abstract:

The American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry have provided new guidelines for pediatric sedation. The practitioners are required to have greater levels of skill, be prepared to provide emergency care if a child has an adverse reaction and should have a clear understanding of the drugs being used, their effects, and potential drug interactions.

Woman gives birth after ovary transplant

A previously sterile 24-year-old woman who had received an ovary transplant from her identical twin gave birth to a healthy baby girl, offering new hope for young women who face fertility-damaging treatment for cancer. The case provides evidence that ovarian function could be restored after transplantation, leading to natural conception and successful pregnancy.
