Putting MS patients back in control

Article Abstract:

The UK Health Department's newly launched Risk Sharing Scheme, which backs the prescribing of a particular medication to people with multiple sclerosis, requiring MS nurses to play a key role in its implementation, has created major opportunities for MS nurse specialist. The number of MS nurse specialist posts has nearly doubled since the launch of the scheme in April 20002.

Reducing the toll of Parkinson's

People with Parkinson's disease (PD) have complex long-term needs. The role of specialist nurses in providing effective and cost-effective advise and care for people with progressive conditions such as Parkinson's disease, is the need, in helping the patients to transform their care.
