Reply to 'Arsenic patent keeps drug for rare cancer out of reach for many'

Article Abstract:

The author refutes the central theme of the article 'Arsenic patent keeps drug for rare cancer out of reach for many'. He asserts that the nondisclosure of the medicinal formulation of the drug for acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) in the 1990s led to the manufacture of the safe, though expensive, U.S.-patented drug.

Induction of tumor lymphangiogenesis by VEGF-C promotes breast cancer metastasis

Article Abstract:

Tumor lymphangiogenesis has been highly correlated with the spread of lung and lymph node metastases. This finding establishes the biological significance of intratumoral lymphangiogenesis in breast cancer and identifies how VEGF-C molecularly links lymphangiogenesis with metastasis.
