Article Abstract:

The editors of JAMA will only publish a paper if the information has not been published or presented in detail in any other medium. The only exceptions are scientific meetings, testimony before government agencies, information that is in the public domain, and release of information of extreme importance to US public health.

Update on JAMA's conflict of interest policy

Article Abstract:

JAMA's conflict of interest policy has continued to evolve since its inception in 1989 with the goal of improving disclosures, and transparency for all involved. Hence, JAMA would begin requiring all authors to disclose all potential conflicts of interest in the Acknowledgement section of the manuscript at the time of submission to improve transparency of reporting of potential conflicts of interests and to encourage more accurate and complete disclosures.
