Signaling out heart cells

Article Abstract:

The progenitor cells that give rise to three major cell types of the heart, such as the cardiac muscle, smooth muscle and endothelial cells are identified. The identification of these major heart cells might lead to improved approaches for heart repair.

Perfusion-decellularized matrix: using nature's platform to engineer a bioartificial heart

Article Abstract:

A new approach for the development of a bioartificial heart by using a perfusion-decellularized matrix is examined. Results show that the decellularized hearts presents a perusable vascular architecture and intact chamber geometry on coronary perfusion.
