New FDA rules for advertising drugs on TV raise questions

Article Abstract:

The Food and Drug Administration has changed its policy and will allow prescription drug manufacturers to advertise on radio and television. The relaxation of former rules, however, does not come without certain safeguards, such as including a Web site address and a toll-free telephone number in ads so that consumers can get more information. Critics claim that these restrictions and others are not enough to keep drug makers from making misleading commercials.
