Article Abstract:

Elderly patient care in the UK could be vastly improved if the National Health Service would be prepared to invest in modern and more comfortable commodes for patients. Ensuring elderly people have access to suitable toilet facilities enables a sense of independence and leads to a better quality of life. Many wards are coping with inappropriate, out-dated equipment which fails to provide the elderly with the care they deserve.

Article Abstract:

The UK National Health Service has in the past been guilty of treating older nurses very badly. In many cases, older nurses saw their jobs cut because they were seen as too expensive. It is now time to recognize that older nurses can contribute a wide range of valuable experience.
