Receptor feasts on sugar and cholesterol

Article Abstract:

Researchers have shown how glucose and lipids are sensed through same protein in order to control the expression of genes linked to nutrient homeostasis. The analysis has helped in clarifying the physiological role of human hormone receptor LXR in human metabolism and has provided new ways to develop strategies to treat metabolic diseases.

Canada tops cancer research impact list

Article Abstract:

The analysis of the clinical cancer research worldwide has demonstrated that the United States is publishing the most studies but the other countries are publishing more influential research. The studies on oncology published between 1995 and 1999 have been investigated.
