Sexual desire and arousal disorders in women

Article Abstract:

A survey of 2,400 multiethnic women in midlife in six US cities showed that 40 percent of them never or infrequently felt sexual desire, though majority reported capable of arousal. The report provides tabular information on sexual dysfunction, assessment and diagnoses of dysfunction, and off-label uses of drugs for investigational treatment of sexual dysfunction, and recommends a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy and sex therapy.

Disabled receptor signaling and new primary immunodeficiency disorders

Article Abstract:

An identification of the genetic defects that cause severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), which should permit the development of therapeutic agents that are tailor-made for each SCID variant, is discussed. Genes with a role in more severe cases of immunodeficiency that might be explored in the future include those encoding the linker for the activation of T cells (LAT) and the SH2 domain containing leukocyte protein of 76 kD.
