A series of controlled clinical trials on the effects of lowering dietary salt intake suggest that decreasing sodium consumption may not be critical to maintaining good health. The study, "The Effect of Reduced Dietary Sodium on Blood Pressure," was conducted on more than 3,500 subjects over a 20 year period. Preserving the mission

Article Abstract:

Lawndale Christian Health Center, located in Chicago's impoverished West Side, in IL, is a well-run community health center that has a good chance of surviving government cuts and Medicare reform. The clinic is expanding about 40% to meet the needs of about 1,000 patients per week, or 75,000 visits per year. Most patients are on Medicaid, and this number will be sustained during its transition.
