Surface contamination in the dental operatory: a comparison over two decades

Article Abstract:

Professors at the University of Maryland Dental School were able to reduce bacterial contamination of surfaces in their surgery clinics by redesigning the clinics and paying particular attention to infection control procedures. Students and staff members were all required to take a course on blood-borne infectious micro-organisms. Many dental procedures produce aerosols, which can contain micro-organisms that eventually settle on surfaces.

The clinical longevity of porcelain veneers: a 48-month clinical evaluation

Article Abstract:

Ceramco Colorlogic porcelain veneers appear to be durable and acceptable when used in esthetic dentistry. Researchers placed 59 Ceramco Colorlogic porcelain veneers in 12 patients and evaluated the restorations at 12 and 48 months. At 48 months, the restorations appeared stable in color and did not cause tooth sensitivity. This product is now marketed by Ceramco, Inc. as Colorlogic Veneer Bonding System with Fluoride.
