T cell-encoded CD80 and 4-1 BBL induce auto- and transcostimulation, resulting in potent tumor rejection

Article Abstract:

Primary human T cells expressing CD80 and 4-1BB ligand (4-1BBL) have responded to tumor cells lacking costimulatory ligands provoking potent rejection of large, systemic tumors in immunodeficient mice. The new strategy of endowing T cells with constitutively expressed costimulatory ligands is used for other ligand-receptor pairs and also for increasing the targeted adoptive transfer therapy.

Treatment with humanized monoclonal antibody against CD154 prevents acute renal allograft rejection in nonhuman primates

Article Abstract:

Administration of a CD154-specific monoclonal antibody (hu5C8) has been found in a study using nonhuman primates to allow for allotransplantation of kidneys in outbred, MHC-mismatched rhesus monkeys without acute rejection. Therapy with antibody against CD154 is a promising approach for use in human allotransplantation.
