Over 650 national and international organizations will participate in the Bone and Joint Decade scheduled for the years 2000-2010. The organizations will raise public awareness of the cost of treating musculoskeletal diseases. The Bone and Joint Decade has been endorsed by more than 15 countries, the UN and the World Health Organization.

Osteogenesis imperfecta may be hard to diagnose, especially in a patient with no history of bone fractures. Osteogenesis imperfecta is a bone disease. Typical signs include a blue tinge to the whites of the eyes, short stature, hypermobile joints, and a history of bone fractures.
