Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on allogeneic response to the donor major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules in transplantation and weak response to the tumor antigens. Results demonstrate the possibility of promoting the T-cell response to the self MHC-restricted tumor peptides by the patient's response to the MHC molecules.

Predicting the unpredictable: transmission of drug-resistant HIV

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the evolution of the drug-resistant HIV epidemic in San Francisco. Results indicate that the resistance epidemic is generated by the drug-sensitive case conversion to drug-resistant cases and not by the resistant strain transmission.

The author discusses the clinical effect of HIV in developed countries that has been reduced via the the use of the antiretroviral drug therapy combination. The resistance of the HIV strains to some of the drugs is discussed.
